[mood |workingworking]
[music |Sandstorm / Darude -- Love this damn song!!]

I have progressed! I now have a myspace at the urging of Tigglet http://www.myspace.com/ladytiggs. I guess I am not with the times if I don't have one! If you have a myspace feel free to add me and I will do the same.

Since my last update I decided to end my contract with Turbine so I can focus on working full time for Ping0. The two new games are Mythos/beta and Hellgate London/Friends and Family Alpha. And if that doesn't keep me busy enough I have also started my own contracting company, Mig Squared, LLC and have 10 contracts with other companies the bigger contracts being with MTV. YAYYY ME!! So life is being good to me and I am enjoying working my ass off! We all know I don't sleep anyway so I may as well spend that time making money =)

Two days and counting till we fly out to NJ for two weeks. Not all of the time there will be for vacation but I get to visit with my family when not working as well as refresh my accent and attitude! hehehhe This should prove to be a learning experience. Our lazy lab Thor is now certified as an Emotional Support Dog / Therapy dog and will be flying _IN_ the plane with us versus the cargo hold he normally gets placed in. 100 lbs of lab in seat 5b, please god do not make him have gas while we are in flight! That is my biggest fear as funny as it sounds. I know some of my friends are crossing their fingers that Thor will rip a few good silent but deadlies.

I will still update here as well as my blog on my Myspace.

Things are just wonderful!! [Mar. 20th, 2007|09:31 pm]
[mood |happyhappy]

Hello! Is anyone out there? *tap tap* I know I have been a slackette again and let my journal go *hangs head in shame*. I just now got around to paying for it again and figured I owe whoever is still out there an update.

Where to start... I am still working as a contractor for Turbine. I am focusing more on LOTRO which is in beta right now then DDO lately. I also started working as a contractor for Ping0 which currently has Mythos www.mythos.com in Alpha. Let me know if you would like to try out Mythos! Let's see, after Mythos is Hellgate London, which many of you may have heard about. So as you can see working two jobs is keeping me busy but there is more! and some extra special good news for those that continue to read on :)

In what little free time I have, I am trying to get my non-profit off the ground. It is called Gifts From Gamers and you can check it out at: www.giftsfromgamers.org Please check out the site and donate if you can!

The holidays were nice just quieter then normal. My mother came in for Christmas and left a few weeks ago. It's always so nice to have her out here. She is a tremendous help, more then she will ever know. Unfortunately, my son couldn't come home for the holidays but was released from the Army a few weeks ago. He is now working on getting his life together and figuring out what to do next. If only I were 19 again lol

Tiglet spent her spring break at Disney World. She went with a friend for competition cheerleading. She had a great time but couldn't find Tigger anywhere while there. I guess Tigger is staying out of the public eye for a bit. She did bring me home a stuffed Tigger to add to my collection =)

So let's see what else. Oh well I guess I can share the best news of all. Right after the holidays I was treated with a 2 week visit from my boyfriend who was on R&R from Iraq. We had a wonderful two weeks together that went by so quickly :( Before he left he asked me to marry him and I said yes. He will be in Iraq for another 7 months and when he returns we will have a quiet little ceremony. No, he isn't a gamer but I am slowly working on that.

I guess that catches you up on where I am at in my busy little world. I really enjoy reading your comments so please feel free to leave one!

Hugs and I will write more soon!

Never a dull moment [Nov. 7th, 2006|10:59 pm]
[mood |crazycrazy]

I've been nudged again! I am such a slacker with updating my journal and there are never enough hours in a day.

My life has been crazy but I have great news. My son was not shipped off to Iraq. The bad news is he is undergoing tests to see why he is passing out and getting bad dizzy spells. The Army gave him a monitor of sorts to wear around his neck and when he starts to feel dizzy he is to push a button and hold it up to his heart so it can record information. Hopefully from the information it gathers they can diagnose what is going on with him. His heart rate is 60 which they say is low and after PT it only goes up to 90. Hopefully there is nothing major wrong with him.

As if things aren't busy enough with running back and forth to Fort Hood, my dog had seizures for the first time last week. It was the scariest thing I had ever seen. I've been around labs almost all of my life with showing and training them and never had one take a seizure. Naturally I took him to the vet and I have to watch him for 30 days to see if he has another seizure. If he does he will be put on medicine for life. =(

Just as things started calming down with my real life, I woke up to water all over my floor. My neighbor’s huge tree decided to root into my pipes. The good news to this is I will now be getting new carpeting and ceramic tile for the entire downstairs of my home and just in time for the holidays! =) The bad news about it is the 7 turbo fans and 5 humidifiers running are about to make me crazy! I feel like I have a heliport in my house.

So things are crazy but all is going good for me. I still feel less stressed then I was a year ago that’s for sure. I pray night and day for the many new friends I have made at Fort Hood that were shipped out to Iraq. I hope they all return home safely. If anyone is interested in sending soldier’s letters or items, I am in the process of getting a point of contact for my sons unit and a list of what they can and can’t receive. Once I have the information I will post it to my live journal. I can’t take care of the whole unit but who knows with all us gamers maybe we can pull together and make a dent to help out a few especially with the holidays coming.

I need to get something’s done before it gets too late.

Thanks for taking the time out to read about my hectic life and for all the wonderful emails I still receive!

Testing out uploading pictures. [Aug. 16th, 2006|09:51 pm]
As you can see I am still struggling with Live Journal and really haven't given it to much attention to figure it out. I just uploaded two pictures to see if they would show. *crosses fingers*

Life has been good, I am still melting away in with the Texas heat. It is late here so I will update more to this entry another day. :)

I hope everyone is staying cool with this summer heat!

I love my central air conditioning! [Aug. 5th, 2006|10:27 am]
[mood |thankfulthankful]

Hello Everyone!

What a summer we are having. The Texas heat is in full strength with no break in sight. Lake Travis is getting lower and lower each week because we haven't had rain in a long time. We did have some rain for the 4th of July but it wasn't enough to make a difference. The drought conditions are getting worse and islands are popping up all over the lake. I need to learn how to do a rain dance so the lake can get the water it needs and it may cool things off at the same time :) We try to go out on the boat every weekend and take the jet skis out during the week when all the crazies are off the lake.

My son has informed me that he will be heading to Iraq in November for 14 months with approximately 25,000 other soldiers from Fort Hood. We both knew this was a possibility but it scares the hell out of me now that it is a reality. I am very proud of my son and all military for doing the thankless job they do. I am starting a stockpile of supplies that I can send over to my son and his co-workers so they can have some of life’s little pleasures and maybe take their minds off the war around them for a moment. He will be missing 2 birthdays, 2 Thanksgivings and 2 Christmas’s while over there. I am very big on celebrating holidays of all types but only mentioned the major ones. He will leave at age 18 and return at age 20. Ok, I will stop now, I know I am being such a mom and thinking about the little things.

Work has been great and I am still with Turbine and a few other non-gaming companies. Many of you have emailed me about trying the SWG Emulator. I gave it a lot of thought and as much as I would love to, I simply can’t and thank you all for your offers. The SWG chapter is closed in my book and I don’t go backwards in life. I still game when I get a chance, my jobs and children keep me busy.

The next few weeks will be very busy for me. My daughter will be starting school on the 16th YAYYYYYYYY!! Errr, I will miss her being home all day with me *waves to Tigglet* I will also be turning the big 40 at the end of the month. I hear life begins at 40 so I will let you know if what they say is true. We are also trying to squeeze in a visit to New Joisey so I can refresh my accent and attitude, oh and to visit my family.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and staying cool!

Happy Memorial Day! [May. 30th, 2006|06:01 am]
[mood |chipperchipper]

Hello Everyone,

I still read my Live Journal posts and thank you for the nudges. I have been trying to find time to post and over the weekend decided to just wake up early today so I could write a post. I am still shocked that I receive at least 50 private emails a day to my Live Journal email address and on days where a post is made on the SWG forums about me my emails jump to over 100 a day.

It has been over a while since I have written to you and many things have been going on in my life. First I will start off with I am working 3 jobs and as you can guess that keeps me very busy. As many of you know already my primary job is working for Turbine and I really love that I am still in touch with many of the former SWG players that are playing DDO. My other two jobs are not gaming related but they allow me to be in contact with different types of communities then I am used to dealing with. The similarities across the different communities are very interesting. I didn't think that I would enjoy working for non-gaming companies but I was wrong. It is nice to be able to help people in different ways and see how happy they get when things work out.

I'm still playing online games when I can with DDO being my main game. But my time is limited and I miss the people I was playing with on a daily basis. In the next few weeks I should be able to devote more time to DDO and I am anxiously awaiting the LOTRO beta.

My son has completed his training for the Army and is now home. It is great to see the changes that have taken place in him while he was away. I am very proud of what he has accomplished. He is now thinking over if he will go from being a reservist to Enlisted. I am hoping that he chooses Enlisted even though the thought of him going to war scares the life out of me. I believe what they can teach him will help him so much in his life long goals.

My daughter and I have adopted a few servicemen that are over in Iraq and we send them care packages and correspondence. We decided to do this after I was reading an email from a serviceman that asked if I minded writing to him while over there (he is a former SWG player). I gave it some thought and one night while I was feeling a bit down I turned to my live journal to catch up on posts. At that point I decided if what people write to me makes me feel better then maybe what I write to a serviceman will give him/her a few minutes to forget where they are. Reading the letters really makes you realize how much you have and is an eye opening experience to what these men and women have to deal with every day they are over there. We are very proud of them and hope they return home to their family’s safe very soon. I only hope our letters do for them what your posts have done for me.

School is now officially out in Texas and as every mother does, I have marked the calendar with the new start of school date and I am crossing off the days. I still can't get used to how early Texas schools get out for the summer. In New Jersey they don't get out until the middle of June. My daughter is thrilled school is out however I am sure in a couple of weeks I will soon be hearing "I'm bored" or "I miss school" coming from her mouth. :P

Well I need to start my work day. I hope you understand why I haven't written in a while. I will write when I can and please don't ever think that it means I forgot about you, it just means my crazy, busy life has taken hold of me and a nudge may be needed :)

I hope you enjoy your summer and I look forward to reading your comments!

Life's Ups and Downs [Mar. 5th, 2006|12:00 pm]
[mood |happyhappy]

It has been almost a month since I have updated my journal and much has happened. Currently I am working two jobs. Things have really turned around for me and I am now working full time as well as doing contracting jobs. Now I get to play the catch up game from being out of work. I am over joyed to be working again and not going stir crazy from being idle.

Dungeons and Dragons Online has gone live finally! I have been having a blast in this game and was the first level 10 on Mabar server. A bunch of us decided to power level and use our first characters as mules for our other characters. It has been a lot of fun but now I can level my other characters slowly and play more with other guildies. Our guild name is Extra Crispy and many in the guild are SWG refugees. I've met so many nice people while playing and hope to meet more!

The quests are all instanced which I prefer however there are areas that you can run around in also (your quest givers, stores ect are not instanced). They did a great job with the graphics and the release has been smooth from what I have seen.

I still get anywhere from 75-100 emails a day to my live journal email address. I read every email that comes in and try to answer when time permits. You folks are all great and have put a smile on my face when I was losing faith. I could never begin to express just how much your emails and posts have meant to me. Thank you so much!

My moms winter visit ends in a couple of weeks and I will miss her terribly when she heads back to New Jersey. She still has some bad days (holidays especially) where she misses my dad so much it hurts. I wish there was a way to make her hurting go away, but we all know only time heals wounds. My dad is watching over her and making sure she is safe though. =)

Sorry if I bored you with my update. I don't have any juicy inside information that I can post nor would I post it if I could. That horse is dead and dead it will stay. I have learned many years ago that if you dwell on the past it will haunt you forever and make you miserable. I love life and live it to its fullest. So for those that are just wanting dirt, I am sorry no dirt will be found here =)

Have a great weekend and I miss you all!

Survival of a teen sleepover... Do I get a shirt? =) [Feb. 10th, 2006|05:44 pm]
[mood |peacefulpeaceful]

I am happy to announce that I did survive my daughter's birthday party. I don't think we will be having another like it anytime soon. Those girls could talk that's for sure. Some fell asleep, l think it was just power naps; while the others kept gabbing away and then they would switch places. I am glad it is over and after the last girl left on Saturday I was finally able to get some sleep =)

My job search is going well and I have some consulting jobs I am doing to fill my time and they help with the bills that come in. I am still looking (not as aggressively) for a full time job but I can relax a bit more now.

The Dungeons and Dragons beta ends soon *sniffles* Today was the last day but Turbine has announced the beta will be extended until Sunday *cheers* I play on Orien server under the name Tiggs (this is for the person that messaged me in-game and told me I shouldn’t be allowed to have that name, only the real Tiggs should). Tonight Turbine is also doing some in-game events which I am looking forward to attending =)

Other then that things are pretty quiet. I still watch the SWG forums to see how everyone is doing. I miss you all and really appreciate the emails and posts. They lift my spirits and let me know that friendships extend well beyond the online games that we love to play.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm still around... [Jan. 23rd, 2006|10:49 am]
[mood |determineddetermined]

I hope your holidays were nice and you are keeping to your New Years resolutions. My Christmas was very quiet this year but it was nice to have my family around to keep me busy. Holidays also make you think. Boy, do they! I have given so much thought about were I was, where I am and where I want to be. Thinking can drive a person crazy I advise you not to do too much of it if you want to stay sane.

As you all know I have been actively seeking work and I promised my daughter we would not move from Austin. That decision has meant I have had to turn down many jobs in the gaming industry =( The gaming industry frowns on working remote and only wants people for face time. You would think in this day and time with all our modern conveniences things would be different. At any rate... this leads me to looking for work outside of the gaming industry. Who knows maybe in the future I will look back at the gaming industry for a job but right now it isn’t possible for me. I hope and pray that I will find something in the next couple of weeks so I don’t loose my house which is my biggest fear. Yes, I know in a way it is materialistic to not want to loose something like that but I am in a great old school type neighborhood where everyone looks out for each others children. Everyone knows each other and we all know it takes a village to raise a kid! This is my little village and I couldn’t ask for a better place to raise my children and who knows maybe one day far, far down the road I will have memories of my grandchildren here! I figure if worse comes to worse I will take on a few jobs to keep going until I can find something better. My other fear is my daughter’s college bills. It is 5 years away but time flies so fast! I want to get some money saved up so she can continue with her education because that is so important in getting a good job. She wants to be a marine biologist or something like that which will require many years of schooling.

Speaking of my daughter… This Friday is Tigglet’s 13th birthday. She is having a sleep over and I get to deal with twenty 13 year olds for a sleep over. Happy Birthday Tigglet dear!! You know mom loves you =)

My son is doing well; he is back at Fort Gordon continuing with his schooling. I didn’t get to see too much of him when he was home for leave because he wanted to hang out with his friends. That was ok with me however I wish I had more time to spend with him while he was home. You forget that they are all grown up and when they come home they don’t want to hang out with Mom. =(

I am playing more DDO and less DNL. Don’t get me wrong I like DNL but I see them reinventing the wheel. They are making mistakes that have been made many years ago by so many other companies. They are keeping me interested because of the size of their updates; it tells me they are at least trying to correct the problems. DDO is much better at the higher levels and I have been amazed at the graphics in their instances. Just when I thought I have seen the best instance I hit a new one and I am amazed all over again. Great job Turbine!

I need to start hitting the web again for jobs. Monday usually brings a new slew of help wanted posts and maybe my job is out there today! I hope everyone is doing well and I will keep you updated on my hunt.

Thanks Ogi for reminding me to update my journal! I got lost with real life worries and it slipped my mind =)

Happy First Day of Winter! [Dec. 21st, 2005|01:02 pm]
[mood |ecstaticecstatic]

The holidays are quickly approaching and I have been very busy with job interviews and getting ready for the holidays. My mom arrived last week for her 3 month visit. Don't cringe, I get along great with my mom and look forward to her visiting. The 3 months that she is here goes so fast.

My baby boy turned 18 two days ago, a sad day since he wasn't with his family on that special day. His Drill Sergeant gave him extra PT for his birthday *rolls eyes*. I could have thought of a much nicer gift =P My son arrived last night for 2 weeks leave time. It is great having him home and I intend to spoil him rotten!

I have been interviewing but that is on hold now until after the holidays. Many companies shut down or don't want to hire until after the holiday season has ended. I am not going to stress over it but instead I will just enjoy the time with my family.

DNL beta started and I haven't been able to play very much. I am in a rather large guild of former SWG players. I'm having a lot of fun getting to know them and it amazes me how well everyone gets along. I did have the opportunity to ride on a dragon thanks to a guildie loaning me his pioneer account, woot!

I have also been playing DDO (Dungeons and Dragons online) beta. There are not too many bugs I have come across while playing and everything seems to run smoothly. I have been able to meet a few former SWG players in both betas and it is great to be able to chat one on one with you!

Happy Holidays to you all and please stay safe and don't drink and drive =)

Huggs to you all and thanks for all your comments!
